Livin' the ENDO life
I had been having issues with my weight, hormones and fertility for over a year now. I went to my ob Dr. Eastwood to see what the scoop was and she diagnosed me with PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome). I have a feeling I developed this from a combination of the miscarriage and hyperglycemia. My insulin is NuTs.
In order to treat PCOS I have to focus on a few things;
I started my low carb diet and basically so far it has been just a constant withdrawl headache, continuous cravings and insatiable hunger. I already need a damn drink.
At least there have been a few favorite items I discovered that make this diet tolerable.....
I am hooked on decaffinated tea. Specifically these kinds (all kinds. Also forces water down my throat.)
Whipped cream (for coffee/tea sweetener...also good on jello.)
sugar free orange jello (for the need of sweets)
Vanilla Almond milk (for the milk cravings/heartburn cure)
Sparkling Ice (for the soda and juice cravings)
frozen whipped topping ( for the ice cream cravings)
BACON
Chopped Salad with chicken, bacon and goat cheese.
roast beef with cheese and balsamic vinigarette
Mushroom, spinach, cheese and sausage omelet
DC chicken salad
But that is pretty much it.
Good thing I work in a Bakery!!!!
*WISH ME LUCK*
In order to treat PCOS I have to focus on a few things;
- A low carb diet and weight loss plan (Dr. Eastwood's goal for me is 18lbs by october)
- Limit caffeine and alcohol consumption
- Stay positive!
